Why are women more likely than men to pursue patient advocacy roles?
An interesting study conducted by the patient engagement consultancy, merakoi, looked at the reasons why patients advocate for their diseases and why women advocate more frequently than men.
The results were published in an infographic which shows improving patient experience is the top motivator for becoming a patient advocate.
When asked why they believe women advocate more than men, survey respondents (both men and women) said men are more hesitant to share their feelings.
The survey results concluded with some words of encouragement for men to motivate them to advocate and speak up about their condition.
